To date, we have successfully completed the installation of 100 hand pumps, which are now serving as vital sources of water for the local residents. These hand pumps have significantly reduced the burden on women and children who previously had to walk up to 6 kilometres each day to obtain water.
One of the challenges we encountered was the poor quality of water in these rural areas, which had a bitter taste. To overcome this, we implemented an innovative solution by digging underground pipes from sources located up to 2,000 feet away. This approach has allowed us to tap into cleaner water sources and improve the overall water quality available to the community.
In addition, we have prioritised the use of long-lasting pumps in our project. This ensures the sustainability of the water supply system and reduces the need for frequent maintenance and replacements.
Our efforts have had a significant impact on the lives of the community members. Access to clean and safe water is vital for their health, well-being, and overall quality of life. With your donations, we have been able to make a tangible difference in the lives of these marginalised communities, providing them with a basic human right that was previously inaccessible.
